Rural/Remote Manager of the Year
The Rural/Remote Manager of the Year is for managers who live and work 75 kilometres or more outside of their nearest AIM network or provincial city.
This category seeks remotely based business owners, and professional managers in local business, community organisations, rural tourism or primary industries. These
managers will lead an organisation or major business unit in a professional
capacity or own and operate their own business that employs more
than five people.
Nominees in this category represent the incredible diversity of rural Queensland and consistently overcome unique challenges presented by geography through the application of sheer management talent.
Applicants must be in their current role for at least 12 months.
Nominees must meet the criteria listed below.
Nominees must be able to demonstrate:
(a) The ability to manage complex tasks, people, processes and the macro environment
(b) Recognition by their organisation or key stakeholders as showing excellence in management and leadership
(c) Effective communication of their organisation's goals and vision to all stakeholders
(d) A commitment to mentoring or other leadership activities
(e) Demonstrated performance to budget
