Awards Campaign in High Gear

As the closing date for nominations approaches, candidates are looking to the next step in the Management Excellence Awards journey.

MEA Coach, Katrina Arch, gave Agenda an insight into the Awards program by answering some frequently asked questions from nominees.

Do you have to be a member of AIM to apply?

No. The Management Excellence Awards are open to all managers regardless of their organisational or personal affiliations.

What happens to my application after it is submitted?

All applications are submitted to the appropriate regional judging panel who review the applications and shortlist finalists. Finalists are then contacted by their regional coordinator and invited to attend a 40 minute personal interview. Many nominees find this part of the program to be the most rewarding.

Who are the judges?

The judging panels consist of highly regarded business leaders from local communities who have an understanding of the regional or metropolitan business district. Each judging panel is required to operate within a very strict set of guidelines. Consequently achieving short-listing and participating in the judging process is a significant achievement first at the regional level, and then at the state level.

As a high level business professional why should I nominate?

The Awards are the only program of their kind in Australia that recognise individual management and leadership endeavours at all levels of an organisation. To be nominated is recognition of an individual's achievements and a chance to create a role model for other managers as they build their own career.
