2005 Rockhampton Winners Announced
Guests at the 2005 Rockhampton Regional Final were inspired by Wotif.com founder and CEO, Graeme Wood and the first to hear the winners announced.
The evening was chaired by Dr Lee Di Milia, who is the Head of the School of Management at CQU.
Professor Dudley Roach, Chief Executive Officer of the Rockhampton's Rail Cooperative Research Centre, was named the winner of the Professional Manager category of the Central Queensland Management Excellence Awards organized by the Rockhampton Region of the Australian Institute of Management.
The presentations were held at the Rockhampton Heritage Village at 6.30pm on Friday 9 September 2005.
Other finalists in the Professional Manager category included:
- John Bryant, partner at Kennas
- Anthony Austen, manager for QRNational's rollingstock depot in Rockhampton
- Peter Callaghan, Community Employment Options group general manager Peter Callaghan.
- Dr Jeanne McConachie, Director of the Division of Teaching and Learning Services at Central Queensland University
- Gary Stevenson, Rockhampton City Council’s chief executive officer
Natasha Dunne, owner-manager of three businesses, Harvest Hotline Australia, Resumes to Go and PizzaShop Gracemere, took out the Young Manager category.
Other finalists in the Young Manager category included:
- Warren Kellett, officer in charge of the Yeppoon Ambulance Station
- Jacqueline Nagle, branch manager for MGES Recruitment, a division of The Integrated Group
- Martin Pentecost, general manager of Outback International Management,
- Andrew Whitby, Fitzroy River Water construction engineer
Neil Reid, Queensland Ambulance’s area manager in Emerald, was named Rural & Remote Manager.
The other finalist in the Rural & Remote Manager category was Leanne Kohler, executive officer with Desert Channels Queensland in Longreach.
Paul Bell, who is the president of the Australian Local Government Association and the Queensland Local Government Association, received the CQ Medal for Leadership in Management, which is presented by the Faculty of Business & Law at Central Queensland University.
