2006 Management Excellence Awards Launch

Cutting edge managers across Queensland are being tapped on the shoulder by colleagues, peers and employees as the Management Excellence Awards is launched throughout regional and metropolitan Queensland.

Celebrating its 10^th year in Queensland as a state-wide Award, Brisbane’s business, industry and government elite will be attending a spectacular launch at world class production studios Cutting Edge, based on the river-side at West End. Tuesday, 28 February 2006 at the purpose built premises of world renowned Queensland production company, Cutting Edge.

The company has worked hard to achieve not only expansion but also diversification, with the core business servicing the post-production needs of the feature film, television commercial and reality TV market.

“Our company name is synonymous with what these management awards are all about,” said Cutting Edge Managing Director Ray Smith.

“We did not hesitate when approached to sponsor the 2006 launch.”

“As a privately owned Queensland business we support the acknowledgment of individuals throughout this state.”

AIM Board Member and Chair of the Management Excellence Awards for the last three years, Nanette Carroll FAIM, said the MEA program has grown significantly since its inception and has a real impact on both metropolitan and regional communities

“The Management Excellence Awards has uncovered, and showcased, the talent of thousands of managers who have played an influential role in business and industry in Queensland and the Northern Territory,” said Ms Carroll.

“This grassroots initiative is one of the leading awards programs in this country. It remains the only awards that recognise the contribution an individual makes to management and leadership excellence,” said Ms Carroll.

Awards categories include Professional Manager of the Year, Owner Manager of the Year, Young Manager of the Year and Rural/Remote Manager of the Year. In the Northern Territory, where there is a strong government market, the professional manager of the year encompasses a public sector and private sector option.

Ms Carroll believes the more senior a manager becomes, the less personal feedback they receive, even more so if they are a business owner.

“The Management Excellence Awards is a way to turn this around and really tell someone they have made a significant difference to the success of their organisation or business by nominating them,” said Ms Carroll.
