Household Name to Host Awards Final
Australian television sales icon,
Tim Shaw, will address Brisbane’s
leading managers at the 2006
Management Excellence Awards
Brisbane Final.
But wait, there’s more.
Best known as the face of the
infamous Demtel ‘infomercials’, Tim
has been labelled Australia’s most
effective sales presenter, host and
communicator.
AIM CEO, Carolyn Barker AM FAIM,
said she expected strong interest in
the event from the Brisbane business
community.
“Tim Shaw is a national household
name and international success story
who will forever be part of Australian
pop culture,” Ms Barker said.
“Tim is certainly a quirky choice
to present at the Brisbane MEA
luncheon, but his real value is
in offering insights and fresh
perspectives as one of Australia’s best
contemporary salesman.”
Shaw became the face of Demtel
during the early 1990s and has held a
prominent role in the Australian media ever since.
His first book, Best Seller – Tim Shaw’s Sales
Success Secrets, became a best seller itself.
Now in its 17th year, the Management
Excellence Awards remains one of
the few awards programs celebrating
the contribution of managers to the
success of their businesses.
“The Management Excellence
Awards has earned a reputation as the
premium showcase of Australia’s most talented
managers,” Ms Barker said.
“The MEA alumni of winners is an impressive

Brisbane region winners will compete
against finalists from around Queensland,
culminating in a spectacular Gala event
on Friday 3 November 2006 at the Sofitel
Hotel, Brisbane.
