Central Queensland Medal for Leadership in Management

The Central Queensland Medal for Leadership in Management was introduced in 2004 to highlight the significance of leadership in management (both current and in the future) to the ongoing prosperity of the Central Queensland region. This medal celebrates the contribution of dynamic, pivotal and senior leaders in our private, public, corporate or voluntary sector organisations - individuals whose names are now synonymous with leadership in management.

Leadership in management is not necessarily about holding a position at the highest level or in the largest organisation. Instead, it is about the running of private, public, corporate and voluntary organisations in a dynamic and successful fashion. It is about the setting of organisational goals and achieving them with flair.

Winner

Rick Palmer
Critical Projects Officer,
Rockhampton City Council

Rick is currently the Manager, City Governance at Rockhampton City Council.  This follows on from his position as Critical Projects Officer.

Rick has a long association with Central Queensland.  He has been involved with many sporting associations and regional development projects.

His recent major projects include the Coal Mining Growth Project and the very successful 2007 Queensland Resources Expo.

He has displayed outstanding leadership in Central Queensland, flair and an infectious laugh.

Winners were announced on Friday 7 September at the 2007 Rockhampton MEA Regional Final.
